ACRELive! The Law of Payment Rails

8/22/2023 - 8/22/2023
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Location:

For decades, large real estate closings have revolved around wire transfers. But recent developments have opened other possible “payment rails” that may soon impact your closings: For example, the Federal Reserve just launched its “FedNow” real-time payments system, and the use of cryptocurrencies is still developing. In some cases the legal regimes underlying these payment rails are well-known, but in others considerable questions remain. Join us as this panel compares and contrasts the law underlying payment rails, both old and new!
