This presentation will provide an overview of captive insurance companies, including how they work and why companies form them. The presentation will also discuss how captives may be of particular interest and use to a commercial landlord and/or tenant, considerations in sales and purchases of real estate by a captive insurance company, the types of commercial real estate-related risks a captive may cover, and what issues may arise if a captive is used by parties in the commercial real estate space. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
